Kristen Harris is a native of Vicksburg, MS. She has over 10 years of experience in employee relations and training, policy writing, grant management, program development, and project management. She has earned her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Tougaloo College and her master's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Memphis. In 2021 she earned her designation as a Certified Public Manager (CPM) from the Mississippi State Personnel Board and in 2024 became a Certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Practitioner.

She currently works for the City of Vicksburg, where she serves as the Chief of Staff for the Mayor. Prior to that, she served as the Outreach and Training Coordinator for the City of Vicksburg Advancing Health Literacy Grant and a Fingerprint Examiner for the Department of Public Safety. Also during her time at the Department of Public Safety, she became the only trainer in the State of Mississippi for the National Incident Based Reporting System, where she had the opportunity to train Law Enforcement from throughout the state and represent Mississippi at the FBI Training Academy.
