Robert Dalby, born Robert Kuehnle in Natchez, Mississippi, in 1946, is an accomplished author known for his engaging novels. His father, Robert Dalby "Bob" Kuehnle, was a pulp fiction writer and editor in New York post-World War II. Dalby grew up in Natchez, graduated from South Natchez Adams High School in 1964, and later earned a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from Sewanee: The University of the South.
Dalby has lived in various places, including Frankfurt, Germany, New Orleans, Louisiana, and currently resides in Oxford, Mississippi. He has published seven novels under the pen name Robert Dalby, including the acclaimed Piggly Wiggly series. He has also published seven novels under the pen name R.J. Lee.
